BJP President Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on Congress for creating caste divides. While speaking to Republic TV’s Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, Amit Shah said that Congress has engineered caste divide through Cambridge Analytica. He also said that the Congress lied that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to abolish the SC/ST act.
"They said that the SC/ST act has been abolished. whereas the government took no such step. Someone filed a plea in the court, the Supreme Court heard the plea and passed a judgment on one or two sections, against which the Centre filed a review petition which is under consideration. there will be a hearing on the plea in an open court. anyone can be party to it. All BJP governments have been party to it. And if a responsible politician says that the SC/ST act has been abolished, the Prime Minister keeps stressing on the fact that this is something that can never happen,"
The BJP President assured that the BJP and the Prime Minister will protect the reservation system.
"The PM has very strongly said that we will protect the reservation system. I have said it very strongly neither have we done it nor will we let anyone else do it. But they kept saying that BJP would end the reservation system. there has to be a limit to lying. And I believe that even media has some responsibility to expose such people. That is why I had put out the tweet saying that whatever the Congress chief has said is incorrect and is nothing but lie. He is a member of Parliament, how can anyone abolish the SC/ST act without it being discussed in the parliament," said Amit Shah.
